Fly/Breast Combo Drill
The Fly/Breast Combo Drill is a great way to maintain proper body position while swimming breaststroke by preventing the legs from adding resistance. The legs also follow the movement created by the upper body, allowing for more concentration on the arms and torso.
Steps:
Before you swim any distance, be sure you are swimming the stroke right.
Make sure that you are comfortable with this before swimming long distances.
Steps:
- Push off the wall in streamline. Pullout is optional.
- Swim your normal breaststroke, but substitute a butterfly kick for your usual breaststroke one. It is normal for this to feel strange.
- Swim whatever distance, usually at lease a 50.
