Double Arm Backstroke
Double Arm Backstroke is used to prevent the often-occuring phenomenon of overreaching by placing both hands in close proximity to one another. The goal is for the hands not to touch.
Steps:
If your hands touch while swimming this drill, you should move your arms farther apart.
Steps:
- Push off wall in streamline position.
- When you reach the surface of the water, begin swimming backstroke...but with both arms at the same time.
- Be sure to swim thumb out, pinkie in.
- Continue for any distance.
